In Typical M Family Style

As you know, whenever I take time off, something happens.

We are not on our way to the buckeye state right now. MM was sent to school. Why are we not on the road? Nana is sick. Yep. Nana, who NEVER gets sick, has a bug. I don't know if it is HoNo, but she is definitely sick. Fever, achy, vomiting. Blah! I am over here nursing her right now & willing her to get better.

I reeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllly want to go see my sister & grandma. I just don't think I can handle MM alone on a road trip. I don't know how she would do. She gets easily stressed out by my pure boy nephew who bounces around with endless energy. She would be stressed from a change in scenery. She would be stressed from seeing people she hasn't seen in years. I would have no one to lean on to help when my patience are thin. My sister would try to help, but MM doesn't know her that well.

I am afraid of being alone with my child away from home.

That is such a sad statement.
Thanks for nothing Autism.

oh I am sorry...hope she gets well quick so you can still go!

and your statement...There are times I have gone with my kids places by myself and then asked myself why the heck I did that! I have started avoiding many things because of this too!

I often avoid things with Regan, unless my heart is set on ot...in fact she is the perfect excuse to get out of a lot of things I don't want to do.

I hope everything gets turned around for you quickly and your trip can go on as planned, and I can't wait to see a majorette vdeo sometime soon. Regan does cheerleading and at the moment wont let me watch her because she wants it to be a surprise.

:( Sorry.
I know that "thanks for nothing" feeling.

Hope Nana is feeling better.

I found your blog via pixiemama. I LOVE the background and the name. I lived in Virginia for a few years and then moved to Texas for college. I was always called a damn Yankee there too. Can you believe that? I was from the capitol of the Confederate Union and still called a damn Yankee.

I just found your blog and love it! My 5 yr old son has autism & cp. We are fortunate that both are mild. I can see so many similarities between MM & my son Jack! I just did my first trip alone with my son, an 8-hour car ride, but it was to see his cousins, whom he adores. So I felt there would be a payoff. Granted, we don't travel anywhere much because there are always consequences. And there's no way we're going on an airplane. Jack has severe sensory problems that would make an airplane horrendous! So glad I found you!
